The Economy Isn’t Why You’re Struggling With Money

The economy is where you expand your money. And your monthly cash flow is your individual household. Those are two separate things, and the moment you see that, the whole money conversation changes.

This week on The Spiritual Investor Podcast I'm sharing a conversation I had with a friend who told me people are struggling right now because the economy is doing so bad. And I'm looking at the economic reports from the side of being an investor and I didn't see that. So I break it open: why politics is not finance, finance is not the economy, and the economy is not your personal budget, and why interest rates and inflation land so differently depending on what side of the table you're on.

Then I bring it back to you. The internal narrative you've picked up from the people around you, the "is it a good time to buy" question I'd remove from your repertoire, and why it's the practice of investing, not the results, that brings the money in.

In this episode:

  • The K-shaped economy, and why we want wealth in the hands of people who are conscious

  • Why politics, finance, the economy and your household budget are highly disconnected things

  • How high interest rates and inflation can work for owners and against earned income

  • Choosing ownership over earned income, even with a portion of your money

  • Why there's no perfect time to invest, and why you don't wait for the world to show you new evidence

  • My investing-as-a-fire visual, and why your job is to go get more wood

  • How the language we use becomes our children's internal narrative
